Behind The Slow Spin

Welcome to The Slow Spin + The Cue.

My name is Adam. A Sydney local born and raised in the western suburbs, surrounded by its rich cultural and musical landscape.

I’ve been obsessed with film music for as long as I can remember, and this show is my way of sharing that passion with a wider community of listeners, collectors, and soundtrack lovers. What originally began as my soundtrack blog, The Film Music Jam, evolved in 2026 into The Slow Spin: Soundtrack Sessions, a space dedicated to thoughtful conversations around the music of film, television, and video games.

Across both The Slow Spin and The Cue, I explore soundtracks from every corner of the industry, from iconic orchestral scores to ambient experiments, cult favourites, blockbuster epics, and overlooked gems. Each episode and review looks beyond the surface of the music itself, examining the relationship between score, story, character, director, performance, and composer.

These sessions are designed to be reflective, accessible, and concise, offering insight into how music shapes emotion on screen, the creative process behind a score, and the artistic partnerships that bring these soundtracks to life. From composer histories and production context to thematic analysis and listening impressions, the goal is simple: to slow down and really listen.

Whether you’re a longtime soundtrack collector, a casual listener, or someone discovering film music for the first time, The Slow Spin + The Cue is a place to explore the emotional and musical language behind the stories we love.

New soundtrack discussions, reviews, and sessions arrive regularly.

Get in touch, share your thoughts, and join the conversation.
